General rules for a test case creation

 

There are several rules during a test case creation common to all types of interfaces. These step should be performed before any further actions described in each interface section.

PREREQUISITES:

The following objects and settings have to be configured:

  • appropriate automation object definition describing the tested object,

  • testing scenario,

  • PI/PO connection settings required by IFTT (For more details, see PI Connection in IFTT Installation and Maintenance Manual ).

COMMON PROCEDURE:

  1. Launch Test Cockpit (tcode /INT4/IFTT_COCKPIT).

  2. Switch to Change Mode:


  3. Select a testing scenario where a new test case should be added.

  4. Add a new line:


  5. Type in the Description field the description of the test case.

  6. Select the appropriate value for the Interface Type field depending on your scenario (you can use input F4 help):


  7. The next step would be to choose an existing Document Number. However, this step differs for different types of interfaces. Therefore, the following actions are described in respective interface types sections.
