Int4 Shield Lite

Int4 Shield Lite helps create, organize and execute tests of selected integration platforms. This allows for SAP CPI test driven development and SAP PI/PO to CPI migration scenario to be accelerated thanks to test automation.

Int4 Shield Lite provides a subset of the APITester features, focusing on virtualization and and the middleware testing. The Int4 APITester manual applies to Int4 Shield Lite, with the exception of supporter platforms, backend validation and external API features, as noted in detail in the manual.

Int4 Shield Lite is available for 12 months for free to all SAP customers working on SAP PI/PO to SAP CPI migration project.

Int4 Shield Lite has a limited set of features as it comes to supported platforms and working scenarios, specifically:

  • Only SAP PI/PO and SAP CPI are supported

  • SAP PI/PO test cases can be created only from message persistency

  • SAP CPI test cases can be created only by migrating SAP PI/PO test cases

  • SAP PI/PO test cases can be executed only for a period of two weeks from test case creation

Principle of operation

Int4 Shield Lite utilizes available API's in the integration platforms to inject, inspect, fetch and compare business messages to provide integration testing, supported with service virtualization.

There are two main pillars to the test execution and virtualization:

  1. Virtualization of external systems
Int4 Shield Lite can inject messages pretending to be an external system in the integration process. Also, it can capture messages submitted in the direction of external systems and validate them for content and structural correctness.

  2. Middleware platforms' behavior inspection
Int4 Shield Lite utilizes existing APIs of tested integration platforms to access message history/trace and inject messages into the platform. By capturing historical documents, injecting new messages, and analyzing how they were processed, Int4 Shield Lite can technically and functionally validate the integration platform behavior by comparing current execution to historical data.
