Moving test cases between systems

USE:

Test cases can be exported from the system and saved to a file. The same file can be imported back to the original system or a different Int4 IFTT instance.

After migrating test cases from another system, Test Case REFRESH might be necessary for the test cases to work correctly. For more info, please check the Administration Mode section in Int4 IFTT Test Execution Report - REFRESH mode.

EXAMPLE:

  1. Open Int4 IFTT Cockpit.

  2. Select scenario nodes containing test cases you want to export.

  3. Select test cases and click on the Export button on the toolbar of the functional section:

  4. Select target directory and provide a file name:

  5. Int4 IFTT exports all selected test cases and their scenario nodes and confirms the completion of the operation:

Importing test cases

  1. Open Int4 IFTT Cockpit.

  2. Click on the Import button on the top-level toolbar:

  3. Select file with test cases previously exported from Int4 IFTT:

  4. For each import operation, Int4 IFTT creates a dedicated folder with the logical system name of the source system and time stamp. All test cases from the file together with the scenario nodes structure are imported under the new node:

  5. Note - folders that were created by Import functionality don't have Landscape configured:

You can assign Landscape to the top node (children nodes will inherit it from their parent node). Go to Change Mode and select Edit mode function:

In a new window, select desired Environment and hit save. Now top folder and all children nodes will have Landscape assigned:

To safely run test cases imported from a different system, it is required to execute a Refresh functionality. Please find more information here.
