Example 2 - Substitution of the document number for test type SAP Backend testing

Imagine you need to configure a variable in an automation object to populate a document number from the SAP backend after test cases execution. As a common use case, we are going to use a SO number. As a result, on the report, the variable’s values will be displayed.

Variable configuration:

Use “Populate veriable after execution” and, as a processing Parameter, the correct XPath poining to the value in the payload

3. Additionally, to test the creation of the whole document, the configuration object must contain DB comparison rules and table VBAK with field VBELN.

As a reference (“key”) field for the VBAK table, use the previously created variable

In the end, add the selection Criteria for the VBAP table
