SAP PI/PO Interface Name Mapping

During SAP PI to SAP PO migration projects, it may be the perfect time for some general clean-up of the not-used objects and rearrangement of the migrated ones. Usually, objects created many years ago without naming convention now need to be renamed.

Int4 IFTT can handle the renamed interface signatures (name and namespace) using a single global mapping table, which maintains the interfaces' old and new names. This function handles both sender and receiver interface signatures and is available for the following Int4 IFTT Interface Types:

  • SAP PI/PO Unit Test

  • SAP PI/PO Inbound

  • SAP PI/PO Outbound

  • SAP PI/PO Synchronous

Configuration

  1. Go to transaction /INT4/IFTT_IMG and expand the “Landscape configuration” node.

  2. Under SAP PI/PO, select the “Maintain interface name mapping”.

  3. The mapping table consists of 5 columns:

    • Source Interface Name

    • Source Interface Namespace

    • Target Landscape

    • Target Interface Name

    • Target Interface Namespace

  4. You need to populate this table with the renamed interfaces for each target landscape. Please note that the table can be maintained in expert mode.

  5. Once populated and saved, you can run the already created test cases on the new Landscape, and the Interface signature will be amended according to the mapping table.

Please note that this functionality can always be used when the interface signature is changed between Landscapes.
